Inspiration

I recently found this while helping my mom clean out the storage room. It was made by one of my great aunts when my sister was born. I am temporily stealing it and using it as inspiration. My summer craft project is crocheting. I plan on learning the basics and will hopefully progress from there.

Turning 20

This is my most recent proect. I have been working on it for some time now and finally finished the top. I loved this sewing this pattern. I love sewing with straight lines and squares. This pattern was just my style.
I tend to always be drawn to the brown fabrics. My last couple of projects have been pink and brown so I thought I would switch things up and do brown, green, blue and cream. I think it was a good choice on my part.

I found a lot of fun fabric patterns. Picking the different patterns and colors is always my favorite part. For this wquile I made sure to have a wide variety of designs. I didn't want any two fabrics to be too similar.

Here is the finished top. I have to say I liked how it all came together.... I think I might just use this pattern again..

5 &Dime Quilt

I have to say that I am a sucker for holiday fabrics. This year was full of cute valentine days designs that I couldn't resist..... I decided to use my fabric to make a fat quarter quilt. My neighbor recomended me to try the 5 & dime pattern. This pattern was quick, easy and fun. It was the easiest quilt to cut (I love when things aren't complicated to cut... I have had a few rough experienced in that department) I had the fabric cut and sewn all in one day. It was incredible! Here are some of the fabric designs... I know, too cute to pass up!

( I chose brown poka dot for the center piece. I loved how it tied all of the colors together)

Here is the final result. I quilted little hearts into the fabric. I felt it appropriate. I also used the same fabric as the center piece to bind it all together. I love how this quilt turned out! Normally I make the quilts for other people, but I think I am going to have to keep this one for myself....
